Katie and the Lost Boys – is a vibrant jazz ensemble celebrating the golden age of 1920s and ’30s jazz. Led by Katie Cavera (banjo/guitar), a seasoned performer known for her mastery of the four-string banjo and rhythm guitar, the band blends musical history with infectious energy. Back by popular demand, the band will feature award-winning Scottish jazz and blues vocalist Ali Affleck. Known for her expertise in early jazz and prohibition-era blues, Ali brings forgotten classics to life with her expressive, unpretentious style. Lauryn Gould (reeds) will be making her debut at this year’s festival. She lives in Austin, Texas, where she is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, educator, composer, and community music advocate. The rest of the band includes multi-instrumentalist Clint Baker, who has led bands at both the world-renowned Monterey Jazz Festival and the New Orleans Jazz And Heritage Festival. Rounding out the rhythm section are Sam Rocha’s driving New Orleans Bass lines and Crystal Lynn Holloway’s swinging drums. Collectively, this band knows how to play for dancers and will draw you in with their passion for the old style.
