Jason Wanner – Jason is something of a local legend in the Sacramento region. As a boy, his dad would bring him to the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee and other local gatherings, which prompted and fed his love for jazz. A SacJEF Music Lessons Award recipient, he was a member of TNT, the SacJEF sponsored youth band, and attended the SacJEF summer Teagarden Jazz Camp, later becoming an instructor there. Jason studied music for one year at USC then returned north to graduate from the Sacramento State University School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Piano Performance.
Incredible skill as a pianist and his love of jazz keeps him in demand as an accompanist for vocalists. He has played with many west coast bands, including Blue Street Jazz Band, Titan Hot Seven, and the Bob Draga Quartet. In 2008 Jason moved to San Diego, and he often appears at jazz festivals all over the United States with multiple groups at a time. He enjoys being very busy. When not traveling domestically or internationally, he can sometimes be found at Disneyland, performing with various contracted groups. “I really feel that part of my destiny lies there; it’s just the right fit.
