Crescent Katz’s off-the-cuff, no-rules, no-arrangements style hearkens back to the days when jazz was party music, and the party never ended. Conjuring memories of smoke-filled bars and Shakey’s pizza parlors, these West Coast musicians will make you want to tap your toes and buy a round for the room.
This year, the band features founding member Jeff Kreis on trumpet, who is taking a short summer break from work as a first call horn man in New Orleans. Be ready to hoot, holler, and shout with merriment. Shushing will not be tolerated!
